Book condition : very good. - Rare folder with 26 prints by Charles Bergmans (1950-), now a celebrated shoe and industrial designer. Even though his shoe designs are winning many competitions early in his career, his initial preference leans more towards art than to shoe design. He limits himself to constructive, systematic art, with a reference to cubism. One of his well-known works of art (1974) is on permanent display in the subway station Weesperplein in Amsterdam. The 10-piece sculpture visualizes a cube moving accross a line. The cuts enable the cube to exit his shape and obtain a sense of direction. This map is a fine example of his minimal, constructive & systematic art.
