Description: Bielefeld : Kerber, 2006. Hardcover. 71,vii pp. ills. 24x30 cm. Mailorder only - Alleen verzending mogelijk. Book condition : as new. - This work contains essays by Barbara Wally and Lukasz Ronduda. Christian Tomaszewski's installation On Chapels, Caves and Erotic Misery is a multi-part, variable space installation with a flexible assembly that uses (parts of) sculptures, architectural models, furniture, photographs, animation, video and light. The exterior space of the museum encloses one or many interior spaces, and the viewer as well, who experiences the sequences when traversing the installation. 'Enclosed' is a key word: in this work that is closed to the exterior, the visitor to the installation is 'enclosed' as are various other elements, found objects and newly created materials. This collection of props and exhibits has endless connotations that the artist perpetually adds to, and which he re-configures for each new presentation. Including an interview with the artist by Tomasz Zaluski, this publication accompanies the exhibition Christian Tomaszewski: On Chapels, Caves and Erotic Misery at Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, 2006. ISBN 9783866780415.
