Book condition : very good. - Memoires of her time in Naples by Emma, Lady Hamilton (1765-1815), She was an English model and actress, who is best remembered as the mistress of Lord Nelson and as the muse of the portrait artist George Romney. She was married to Sir William Hamilton, the British envoy in Naples. Emma had by then become not only a close personal friend of Queen Maria Carolina, sister of Marie Antoinette and wife of Ferdinand I of Naples, but had developed into an important political influence. She advised the Queen on how to react to the threats from the French Revolution.
