Being the second group of jurists who studies roman law after its revival in the 12th century, they had regard to the requirements of legal practice and sought to relate the principles of Roman law to feudal & Germanic customs, canon law, city statutes and other law of their time. Baldus wrote commentaries to all parts of the Corpus Iuris Civilis, to canon law and his commentary on the Libri Feudorum (5), a body of feudal law of Lombardy, compiled by lawyers of Milan and Padova is one of his most succedfull works.
