Book condition : very good. - Anthology of oratory sermons of high-placed men and women by Esprit Fléchier (1632-1710), published in Year 10 (1802) of the French Revolution. He was famous for his eloquent sermons, excelled more than any of his contemporaries and obtained a place in the French Academy in 1673. He gained the favour of Louis XIV and rose rapidly in the Church where he finally became Bishop of Nimes in 1687. The most famous of his orations was pronounced on M. Turenne in 1676, included in this work.
