The influential magazine al-Tali'a was published monthly between Januari 1965 and July 1977 in Egypt, being the only socialist political magazine ever to be published in the Arab world. Editor-in-chief was El-Kholi. According to the prominent critic Farouk Abdel-Quader, who was editor of the magazine's literary supplement, it was tailored to leftist writers who had recently be released from prison. And it enjoied a fairly satisfactory margin of freedom, in a time that the grip of the Nasser regime on the press was tight. After July 1977 the magazine was turned into a youth magazine and it stopped a few months later completely. This is a complete set from January 1965 to July 1977 in 25 uniform leatherbound volumes. Rare, only 2 sets found in NCC; not found in OCLC.
