Description: Ackermann and others, c. 1790 and 1855. Three images, two are 120 x 70 mm. on paper and laid down, the third a tinted lithograph, 145 x 110 mm. on card and stamped Ackerman 1855 to verso. The smaller images are probably cut from a larger sheet, almost certainly a "Lamp Lighter's Address" broadside distributed on boxing day to solicit donations from his patrons> from whence the term boxing day is derived. It is similar to ones which we have seen from the late 18th century.
