Postcard showing the funeral of the men who lost their lives when Submarine A8 suddenly dipped in 1905 causing it to be swamped through the open conning tower> the men on the conning tower survived. "Eleven men of 13 was burried the same day. The roads was lined like this for about 3 miles." 2. In Memoriam for the sailors of Submarine A7 which sank in a training accident in Whitsand Bay, near Plymouth with the loss of her entire crew of 11 men in 1914. 3. In Memoriam for Submarine M.1. She sank with all 69 hands in 70 metres (230 ft) of water on 12 November 1925 while on an exercise in the English Channel when a Swedish ship, SS Vidar, struck her while she was submerged. The collision tore the gun from the hull and water flooded the interior through the open loading hole. 4. Postcard for the loss of H.M.S. Thetis, lost during sea trials in Liverpool Bay in 1939. 4 sailors used the aft escape chamber to reach the surface, but 99 others lost their lives. Salvaged and recommissioned as H.M.S. Thunderbolt, she was lost with all hands in the Mediterranean in 1943. 5. Postcard In Memoriam for the victims of the sinking of Submarine H.M.S. Poseidon, which sank after a collision with the steamship Yuta, north of Weihai. 31 crew managed to escape before she sank and a further 8 managed to escape from the forward end of the ship, though two later died. A total of 21 crew died in total.
