Description: Ashton-under-Lyne: Thomas Cunningham, printer, c. 1820. Bifolium, 240 x 195 mm. bottom half of second sheet excised. Prospectus with outline of the lectures. The missing section on pages 3/4 is presumed to be a subscription form or application for tickets to the lectures. This course of lectures may have been by Thomas Jackson [1773 - 1837], a Scottish physicist who was appointed Professor of Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews. He published a book of theoretical mechanics in 1827.
