Description: 1797 - 1829. 69 items, various sizes. A remarkable collection of bill heads from items supplied to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, The Prince Regent and His Majesty, all referring to the household of George IV as Prince Regent and King and the household of his daughter, the unfortunate Princess Charlotte. The invoices showing the actual purchases have been cut from the bills preventing us from seeing a more detailed look at the household expenditure of this most extravagant Royal. However we can see the range of items purchased for the household including buttons, candles, feathers, glassware, linen, swords, hosiery, fish, baskets, lace, leather, carpets, jewellery, tea, seeds, coal, perfume, paper hanger, floor cloths, dying, elastic brace, books, writing & dressing case, saddlery, wigs, etc. In one or two examples we can see some listed items on the versos or the bottom of the cut section: 12 bottles of milk of roses, 500 tooth picks, cleaning & repairing a dress gown, letting out a blue coat, 4 doz best wax lights, 2 pair armlets, 2 dozen dress gloves at 36/- a dozen, etc.
