Description: H.M.S.O., 1873. Folio. pp. 32> large folding plan of the Graveyards at Sebastopol. Listing an astonishing 130 distinct cemeteries and burial grounds. For each is listed the location, the names inscribed on monuments [if any], the condition of the monuments and boundary walls, plus general remarks. Some are marked as "hardly distinguishable", some as a "solitary grave". Many of the monuments and grave markers were already in disrepair due to the materials used. There is a useful alphabetical index to the monuments mentioned in the reports: individual soldiers with their regiments.
