Tipped to the rear blanks are manuscript lists of purchases by John Bowyer Nichols and two of his sons, Robert and Francis. John Bowyer Nichols [1779 - 1863] was a printer and antiquary, responsible for printing a number of the major English county histories of the first half of the nineteenth century.
