Description: Renault Ltd., c. 1945? Oblong 4to. [250 x 350 mm. Ring bound folder with title page and 20 original photographs, each with printed annotations. Probably dating from just after WW2 when women had increasingly been necessary in the workforce to replace men on active service, this is a record of the development of a particular engine, destined for use by Admiralty, so presumably a marine engine for use on smaller vessels such as motor torpedo boats or service vessels. This shows many of the stages of production from start of the crankcase and cylinder block line, through the various stages of assembly, erection, testing to the completed engines ready for despatch.
