The first edition is uncommon, the book went into at least 7 editions all dated 1827> later editions had a frontispiece portrait not present in the first edition. Lieutenant-general Sir Herbert Taylor [1775 - 1839] was a British Army officer who later became private secretary to George III, George IV and William IV> later being aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria.
