Description: No publisher or printer, [1908] Large crepe handkerchief, 350 x 345 mm. printed onto a pre-printed coloured crepe stock. This, the second Great Swim, was over a distance of 15 miles from Richmond Lock to H.M.S. Buzzard just past Waterloo Bridge. Given the state of the Thames at that time, exhaustion was not the only thing that participants had to contend with. In recent years, open water swimming has been revived though usually over much shorter distances.
