Title: Royal Packet of Choice Christmas and New Year Cards.
Description: A. & G. Taylor, c. 1890. Pressed card box, 195 x 150 x 20 mm. manufactured in Germany containing 4 delicate 3 dimensional cards [one lacking rear panel]. Rare survivals, the cards are built up of several layers of engineered paper and ribbons with flaps to raise parts of the image, the box is a highly ornate pressed card showing Windsor Castle to the rear cover and apart from a small ink stain at the foot of the lid it is in fine condition. As it would likely have been discarded after the cards were all used it is unlikely that many of these fragile boxes would have survived. A. & G. Taylor received their warrant as Royal Photographers to the Queen in 1886.
