Description: Printed by T. Brettell, Rupert Street, Haymarket, 1839. Huge single sheet opening out to 565 x 890 mm. and folding down to 200 x 340 to represent an envelope. Some professional restoration and a little browning. A giant reform postal propaganda sheet designed by Henry Cole for the Mercantile Committee on Postage, it was intended to be sent to M.P.s to sway their views about cheap postage. It is thought that only 1500 were printed and due to the thin paper and huge size, very few are known to have survived in private hands. This is an unused example
