Description: c. 1790.? Single leaf, 185 x 110 mm. laid down on old paper. This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. A poetic version of Aesop's fable of a man with an older and a younger wife. The younger plucked out all his grey hairs, and the older, the dark ones with the inevitable result. "Thus he that does to a Woman trust Is sure to come off with the worst."
