Description: 1762. Printed and manuscript, 300 x 200 mm. This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. The Exchequer could raise money in a variety of ways, the two most common were by loans from wealthy merchants and landowners, the whole of which would be repaid with a fixed level of interest, or, as here by the sale of annuities payable for a fixed period. The sums repaid from various other duties and taxes.
