Description: 1832. Printed and manuscript receipt slip, 80 x 210 mm. This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. Cess tax, was a Scot's property tax> rogue money was a tax specifically aimed at catching and prosecuting criminals. Presumably Bridge money was for building and maintaining bridges. Of the three taxes, rogue money was the most onerous here, though in this particular receipt the rogue money sum has subsequently been deducted from the whole.
