Raimundo António de Bulhão Pato (1828-1912) was a Portuguese essayist, poet, and translator of Shakespeare. His travel work, Dos Açores Cartas, was written as a series of letters: the first contains four letters addressed to Ricardo Guimaraes (later Viscount Benalcanfor); the second part contains three letters, the first to Eduardo Augusto Vidal, and the second and third to Manuel Pinheiro Chagas, with sections on poetry and much discussion of literary efforts. OCLC shows only two complete copies: Harvard and Berkeley. Also one at the BN Portugal. Canto: Bibliotheca açoriana 2284. A very good copy with scuff mark on spine, front board rubbed, light soiling on title, book plate on front paste-down.
