Buchler, Justus - Toward a General Theory of Human Judgement

Title: Toward a General Theory of Human Judgement
Description: New York, Columbia Univ. Press, 1951. First edition. Cloth with gilt titles. viii, 176 pp. 8vo. The first of Buchler's books of systematic philosophy concerned with developing a conception of experience which "should be able to encompass aspects of human life reflected by the sciences and arts, by moral and religious attitudes, and by what takes place psychologically, socially, technologically." Buchler was an American philosospher in the pragmatic tradition of Dewey, James, and Pierce. A very good copy, owner's stamp on free front endpaper, occasional neat red pencil underlining, in a very good- price-clipped dust jacket with a darkened spine and repair at heel.
