First published in 1874. This is the eight volume set (originally published in four).It contains a wealth of engravings and well-executed two page international maps. This edition did not contain state maps. Three boards detached, spine ends chipped on four volumes, worn at extremities, leather brittle, occasional leaf chipped at corner, otherwise interiors still sharp. A useful reference copy.
