Volume 2 is very slightly shorter, being published 3 years later in 1753. Collation, xxx,[2],424pp, xvi, 661,[2]pp, first edition in French, half-titles, engraved frontispiece, titles in red and black, 59 engraved plates by B.Audran after Le Lorrins on 58 folding sheets, Bound in period full calf, raised bands, gilt stamped, gilt lines, leather labels. Calf rubbed, worn on edges, with some wear loss, hinge joints cracked, but boards holding. Internally, free endpapers in volume 1 detached, prevoius owners bookplate. Pages and plates in good clean condition. A very nice set, in slightly different bindings, due to the volumes being published 1750-1753. Near Very Good.
