Description: London, Cassell, 1892, 3rd thousand. 64pp, incl figs in text plus 28 plates, many in colour and fold-out. 28x22, cloth, glt lettering Cloth edges rubbed, spine pulled at top and bottom, foxing and spotting throughout, pencil margin annotations, owner's names in ink in fep, good thus. Beautiful colour illustrations. Includes work by Street, Waterhouse (lovely folding colour plate), Nesfield, Norman Shaw et al. Original was based on a paper read to the AA, 1874. The author was a notable architect and wrote a popular book on ornament.One of the previous owners is Harold Brockman (1901-80), the architectural writer and journalist; a nice obituary is loosely inserted.
