Author: JOHN THOMPSON BEACON WINDOWS Ltd. Title: Beacon Standard Windows Catalogue No. 50
Description: Wolverhampton 1935 50pp, diagrams, photographs, attractive coloured fp, several loosely inserted typed letters 23x29, stapled thick blue card covers. Staples somewhat rusted, covers slightly browning, central pages loose from staples, good thus. Beacon was the windows subsidiary of the John Thompson group of companies, founded in Wolverhampton in 1840 and grew to be one of the largest firms in the town. Modern designs suited for the new styles of architecture; useful diagrams of the installation process included. The enclosed letters are a correspondence between Beacon's agency in Southampton, Kennedy's (Bournemouth), and an architect in Devizes who gently remonstrates after receiving four copies of the catalogue.
