Description: London, Charles Dolman, 1851. fp, viii, 124pp plus 13pp plates of plans and drawings by the author. 27x22, textured cloth, glt lettering on spine. Splitting on edges of spine, front eps splitting, gift dedication in pen on fep, contents good. This was Pugin's last published work (Belcher A59) and was written to demonstrate his belief in the neccessity of chancel screens in churches. The plates are especially noticable for their minute detailing. According to Belcher, Pugin used a lens like a watchmaker's glass, held in the eye, when producing such work.
