The company was founded in Markdale, Ontario, as Moffat Bros. The firm later moved to Weston, and also established a factory in Blackburn to serve the UK market (the founders were originally from Scotland). It doesn't appear to be related to the firm of the same name founded in Australia in the 1920s, though as both made the same products it is quite a coincidence.This catalogue is mostly for institutional scale cooking equipment, for hotels, hospitals, and so forth. The illustrations include a number of Canadian military barracks with the firm's products in use.
