Author: RAWLPLUG LIMITED Title: Modern Fixing Practice. A Technical Handbook Dedicated to All Who are Engaged in Handling Fixing Problems (Volume I)
Description: London 1936 192pp, numerous ills 19x12, blue cloth Good, owner's name in ink on ffep. Promotional guide for the use of the company's products. Apparently the first Rawlplug was invented by John Joseph Rawlings to make the fixing of light fittings in the British Museum quicker and less obtrusive. Perhaps more innovative even that the plug was the company's marketing strategy, at one point taking out the whole front page of the Daily Mail to promote their invention, an unheard of level of promotional spending.
