The TCPA point out the glaring contradictions between the two plans, particularly when it comes to economic strategy, with the GLC trying to retain manufacturing in the inner London areas while the Strategic Plan was trying to do the opposite. The TCPA predicted an 'infinitely growing' demand for high tech office space for the specialist professional and financial services that the city offered; a more accurate assessment than most contemporary ones.
