Description: Stuttgart, Julius Hoffman, 1929 [1] colour plate, 40pp, several other colour plates, 16pp supplement, many bw photographs, plans, some colour images. 29x23, original decorative wraps. Slight browning to front edge of wraps, very good thus. Clemens Klotz is the main feature, looking at his recent domestic architecture (his later work for the Nazi regime was conspicuously grander in scale). The other architect covered is the Vienna modernist Hugo Gorge, with examples of his furniture designs as well as buildings. Gorge died at a relatively early age in 1934: his family fled as Jewish refugees from the regime in 1938. An interesting contrast in outcomes, perhaps.
