Title: Report of the London Traffic Branch of the Board of Trade 1908 [Cd. 4379.]
Description: London, HMSO 1908 viii, 175pp, four large fold-out coloured maps, one on two sheets. 34x22, original wraps. Front wrap detached, spine fraying and chipped, with missing pieces, maps intact and complete, fair copy of fragile item thus. The annual reports of the London Traffic Branch were updates on progress on addressing the problems identified in the 1905 Royal Commission on the Means of Locomotion and Transport in London. A comprehensive scheme of improvements to all modes of transport was required. The maps are particularly good, but the text also includes lots of useful detail. This was the second annual report, completing the picture up to the end of 1908. Jekyll was the brother of the gardener and landscape architect Gertrude.
