Description: London, John Cassell, 1851. xliv (incl list of awards of the juries, index etc), 556pp being nos 1-30 of the 'Illustrated Exhibitor [June 7-Dec27, 1851] incl very many illustrations, incl 9 fold-outs. 25x18, blue cloth, glt text on spine, red edges. Cloth a bit rubbed, with some splitting on edges of spine, some spotting on eps, contents very good indeed. All 9 fold-outs called for are present, but the binder has ignored the careful instructions as to where to put them, and inserted them in the wrong places and in the wrong order. The thirty issues of the journal issued during the Great Exhibition, bound together. Crammed with information, detail and illustrations, in lovely condition (the idiosyncratic binding of the 9 fold-outs notwithstanding).
