The first summary of the 1901 Census by County published and presented to Parliament under the terms of the 1900 Census Act. Full of useful summary statistics, and an attractive fold out map. Population growth was greatest in areas like Fulham and Wandsworth, while the City of London had lost a third of its population in the ten years since the last census in 1891. The largest foreign born population were Russians, and more than half of foreign born actors were American.
