Author: NICHOLSON Peter, revised by Thomas TREDGOLD Title: Practical Carpentry, Joinery, and Cabinet-Making; being a new and complete system of lines for the use of workmen.
Description: London, Thos. Kelly, 1865 xxxvi, 140pp, 36pp, 32pp (The Practical Builders Price Book), 107 plates (109 called for) 29x23, marbled boards, half bound in leather. Boards and spine worn and rubbed, remains of tape repairs on front board and title page, re-bound, browning to most plates; 109 plates called for, 107 present. A later Kelly edition of Nicholson's classic work, with additional plates added (the comparison in quality with Nicholson's originals is striking), and a copy of The Practical Builder's Price Book bound in. The binding instructions list 109 plates, but only 107 are present - whether this is because they are missing or because the instructions were wrong isn't clear.
