Title: L'Architecture Privée au XIXme siecle sous Napoléon III. Nouvelles maisons de Paris et des environs. Tome I. Hotels privés.
Description: Paris, Morel 1864 32pp (in 8 4pp unbound signatures), 53 plates, two of which are double page, loosely inserted. 45x33, marbled board folio with loosely inserted plates. Ex library, folio tatty, foxed, edges of plates bumped and chipped, images intact; note that plate B1-2 is missing and one of the double page plates is a stray from volume 2 (Maisons à Loyer) rather than the correct one from this volume. Reasonable copy thus, shame that a previous librarian shuffled the plates between the volumes! Dedicated to Hausmann, these plans, elevations and measured details are the first record of the 'new Paris', illustrating the buildings that were appearing along the new great boulevards in the city. [Bulky item, may require additional postage]
