Author: TANDRUP Harald (translated by AG Chater) Title: Jonah and the Voice
Description: London, Peter Davis 1937 (orginally published as Profeten Jonas Privat) 336pp 21x14, blue cloth. Cloth a little sunned and marked, very good thus. Originally published in the author's native Danish, this story based on Jonah and the Whale was published in its American edition as "The Reluctant Prophet". Tandrup working for the Nazi-sympathising newspaper Fædrelandet during the occupation of Denmark, and at the end of WWII was sentenced to three years in prison for his activities. Somewhat ironically one key accusation against him was that he had written articles blaming the Soviet Union rather than the Nazis for the Katyn Massacre, something that was eventually confirmed to be true.
