Published by RIBA to mark the Festival of Britain, with examples of forward looking architecture such as the ill-fated Quarry Hill flats in Leeds (inspired by the flats of Red Vienna, they fell victim to construction problems and the traffic planners of the post-war era who left them isolated from their surroundings; they were demolished in 1978, when a few years later they would surely have been listed and regenerated).
