Commentary by the TPI on proposals from the Conservative government to repeal the 'betterment' elements of the 1947 Act, which had originally derived from the work of the Uthwatt Committee. The system introduced in 1947 had proved problematic, and the TPI Council were cautiously positive about the new proposals.
