Author: PARSON FJ (publisher) Title: The British Builder: A Monthly Review of Architecture and Building Practice Vol 11, No. 66 (March 1925) to Vol XIII, No. 78 (March 1926) bound as one volume.
Description: London, FJ Parsons 1925-26 Approx. 875pp, many bw illustrations, plans, diagrams throughout, many ads. 31x25, green library cloth. Ex-library volume, with label on ffep and marks on spine, cloth a bit rubbed, contents generally very good; the publisher changed the format of the magazine from December 1925 onwards, and the result is two slightly different page sizes bound together resulting in some damage to a few page edges. These were the final issues of this magazine, first published in October 1919, which appears to have merged with or turned into a new journal called Building in 1926. Coverage is similar, with sample projects, latest cost data, articles of interest to the trade and so on. Many fascinating pieces throughout, including the adverts. FJ Parsons were an important local publisher in southern England, owning several local newspapers as well as publishing specialist journals like this one [heavy item, may require additional postage to some destinations].
