First trade printing (following a de luxe initial printing of 150 copies), based on a collection of Phyfe's work assembling for an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Phyfe was one of the most important furniture makers of the newly independent United States, selling his work to the fashionable families of New York in particular from his shop on Fulton Street.
