Very slight shelf wear, a little very light foxing, rear binding slightly loose, very good thus. Beautifully illustrated version of the traditional Borders ballad. Paton was greatly interested in and knowledgeable of Scottish myths and legends, and they formed a major theme in his works. The images here are similar in theme to his painting "The Bluidie Tryst".
