Description: London, Cassell nd c.1902 vii, vii, 384pp; vii, 384pp; vii, 384pp; over 1000 illustrations across all three volumes, 12 colour 'Rembrant' plates in each volume. The binder has muddled up the contents pages somewhat - volume 1 has the correct contents lists for Sections 1 and 2, but Vol 2 Sect II's contents page has been included in Volume III, and the contents lists for both Sections of Vol III are missing. 29x22, uniform green cloth with attractive glt decoration. Allowing for the error with the contents pages, a very nice complete set; slight bumping to the cloth, but still very nice and bright, very good thus. Published originally is six sections, then bound as three volumes as here, this is a wonderful evocation of the capital city, and pretty much every aspect of the place and its people at the beginning of the 20th Century. Excellent. [NB - very heavy item, may require additional postage to some destinations].
