Title: The Thirties Society Journal: Complete Run (Issues 1 to 7)
Description: London, The Thirties Society 1980-91 40pp; 44pp; 44pp; 44pp; 44pp; 48pp; 52pp respectively. All copiously illustrated with bw photographs and drawings. 30x21, seven uniform editions, stapled illustrated wraps. Slight edge wear here and there, generally very good. A very nice complete set of this seminal journal. The first issue was published just after the shameful demolition (to escape listing) of Wallis, Gilbert's Firestone Factory in West London; this failure of the system motivated the Society and its supporters to work largely successfully to protect twentieth century buildings. Each edition has different editors, including Gavin Stamp, Simon Jenkins, Alan Powers et al. The Thirties Society is now the Twentieth Century Society.
