Overall fair to good copy. Biography of the artist, generally seen as a key figure in the establishment of a distinctly Australian tradition of painting in the late 19th century. After to moving to Europe and befriending Toulouse-Lautrec his health declined and he died in 1909, probably of syphilis (Rothenstein alludes to a Sydney landlady who took "payment in kind" from the young artist, something for which he never ceased paying). The typeface is unusual, with ligatures for both st and ct letter pairs.
