Description: London, The Autotype Company. 1891 vii, 35pp, 57 plates, marbled end papers. 50x38, dark green cloth with glt and blind stamped design. Cloth heavily rubbed, on spine in particular. Binding loose, with some edges rubbed as a result. Contents complete and in generally good condition. Copy number 9 of only 150 produced, signed by WS Bird of the Autotype Company. This large volume was in part a tribute to Stevens, the designer of the Wellington Monument who had died in 1875, and in part an opportunity for the company to show off its new printing techniques such as the autogravure process. Very uncommon.
