Backstrips sun-faded; extremities very frayed; gilt decorations rubbed; signatures slightly loose in vol. 1, with penciling and small section lacking on tissue guard of frontispiece, and a couple small holes on title page; pages toned, with foxing and occasional stains, but otherwise very good condition. Two volumes, 806p. in all. Illus. Color frontispiece in vol. 1; black & white frontispiece in vol. 2. A 3rd volume was published later (not included with this set). .
