Description: Large dark red linen portfolio (aprox.47x36cm.) with gold print and mounted plate containing title page, with 59 photogravures in cardboard slipcase [1909]. Presentationcopy as souvenir to J. H. Lincklaen Arriëns, who worked as clerk by the postal organization in Langkat. l Comes with a letter dated 1909 by J. J. Wijtema, chief administrator of the Langkat Tobacco Company, to J. H. Lincklaen Arriëns. The German photographer Carl Josef Kleingrothe opened a studio in Kesawan Street in Medan, Sumatra in 1902. Edges of portfolio shaved, one piece missing, wear to titlepage, minor scattered foxing, images are very good. With the original cardboard box. Photos on request.
