Vellum a bit smudged, endpapers a bit worn, a few pages vaguely waterstained at bottom. First edition of Daniël Heinsius' account of the Siege of 's-Hertogenbosch in 1629. The siege took place during the Eighty Years' War and was led by Stadtholder Frederik Hendrik of Orange. The book contains maps and prints on technical-schematic representations.The entire text is written in Latin, including the preface and the laudatory poem by Constantijn Huygens. A historical document that provides a detailed description of the events surrounding the siege.
