Heinrich Witte (1903-1952) was a Luitenant ter Zee 2e classe (Naval officer) and a son of Eduard Theodoor Witte, hortulanus of Hortus Botanicus in Leiden and Aaltje Elisabeth Kruiff, jonkvrouwe Daniella Josina van Rappard was a daughter of Hendrik van Rappard, directeur van Rijkswerven (director of the Dutch naval shipyards) and Henrietta Agneta Gerarda van Dijk. Attractive manuscript. Witte wears his naval uniform on the photograph.
